DSC (Digital Signature Certificate)

Digital Signature means authentication of any electronic record by a subscriber by means of an electronic method or procedure recognised by the laws of India.

DSC are the digital equivalent (that is electronic format) of physical or paper certificates primarily used for filings with various authorities. In case of companies, DSC is required for making necessary filings with the Minstry of Corporate Affairs, Department of Income Tax, etc.

Documents Required for Indian Nationals

• Copy of PAN Card; and
• Aadhaar Card.

Documents Required for Foreign Nationals

• Copy of Passport; and
• Any other proof of residence, if required.

To be noted:

• All supporting Documents of foreign nationals should be certified by the Indian Embassy or a notary in the home country of the applicant or by CA/CS or cost accountant in practice.
• If a foreign Director has a valid multiple-entry Indian Visa or a Person of Indian Origin Card or Overseas Citizen of Indian Card, than the attestation could also be done by Public Notary/ Gazatted Officer in India or practicing professionals (like Company Secretary).
